Slovak Recipes – 6 Uncomplicated Actions to Creating Pirohy

Pirohy are a classic Eastern Slovak dish created from boiled dumplings of unleavened dough and which resemble significant crescent-shaped ravioli.

Recognized also as pierogi, perogi, perogy, pirohi, piroghi, pirogi, pirogen, pierogy and even pyrohy, in accordance to which area or place you are viewing, the expression Pirohy will come from the previous Slavic term “pir”, indicating “festivity”.

Depending on which country you eat them in, the pirohy can have any quantity of distinct fillings, together with diverse meats, jams, spinach and salty bryndza cheese.  Having said that, this distinct recipe is for potato and onion pirohy, which is a speciality of East Slovakia.

Step 1: Rolling of the pastry
